Today, Comcast sent a letter to CenturyLink explaining why the company slowed speeds for CenturyLink’s speed test.
The company told CenturyLink customers that its speeds have “decreased over the past few months.”
In a statement, Comcast said that the company’s network “is undergoing significant upgrades and the speed of the network has decreased” due to “a variety of factors.”
The letter also pointed to other changes Comcast is implementing to its network.
“These improvements include an upgrade to the system’s hardware and software, which will include a faster Ethernet network with better reliability,” the letter read.
The letter says that Comcast is “currently using new network infrastructure and technologies to further improve our customer service experience.”
